HOUSEPLANT SALES SPECIALIST

Our Houseplant Sales Specialists are knowledgeable about houseplant care in the home, up-to-date with modern décor trends, and great with people. We’re looking for applicants who will confidently collaborate with our customers to help them create beautiful indoor spaces that thrive with plant-life. Houseplant care will be a primary responsibility for the Houseplant Sales Specialist. Daily duties include watering, cleaning, and ongoing merchandising in main retail greenhouse and sunroom gift shop.
Houseplant Sales Specialists spend most of their time on the sales floor providing a warm welcome to all who enter our store. We aim to be ready and available when needed and otherwise unobtrusive. We are passionate about plants and it’s our goal to share our inspiration and enthusiasm with our customers. We are experts in directing customers to the plants and other garden amenities that best match their hopes and dreams for their indoor and garden space.
We’re looking for an experienced customer service pro to work at our cash register as backup during peak hours. You’ll ring folks up, answer tons of questions, help connect our customers to the appropriate salesperson and/or services, answer the phone, keep our cash register station clean and well organized, and spread good feelings to everyone you interact with. The Font Desk at Martinson’s Garden Works is at the hub of our customers' experience. Our customers are the most important part of our business, and it will be your job to assure that every interaction with our customers expresses how important they are to us. Customer service experience in any industry would be a major plus. You’ll be responsible for greeting customers and connecting them to a more experienced salesperson when necessary. You'll get a lot of questions about plants so you’ll need to be able to admit quickly when you don't have the answer and find someone on staff who does.
To be successful in this role, an applicant should be an outstanding communicator who works well with others to achieve shared goals. She or he will work in a focused and professional manner in a busy retail environment. Professional experience in a retail setting with minimal supervision will be highly valued.
Candidates should have at least one year of professional experience working with houseplants in a retail setting. If candidates do not have previous experience, they must have a passion for houseplants and able to pick up plant facts quickly and efficiently.

Must be available to work weekends. Including Sundays during peak season.

Roles and Responsibilities
Are you an experienced landscaper looking for a work environment where professionalism and respect is that standard? If so, Martinson's Garden Works may be looking for you! We are always looking for new, responsible team members that are good workers and detailed oriented to join our group of landscape professionals.
All landscape technician’s work under the guidance of our seasoned crew leaders, while working together to install a wide range of landscape products including planting nursery and bedding plants, masonry, irrigation, drainage, water features, retaining walls, structures, and other related landscaping for outdoor living projects.

GROWING OPERATION ASSOCIATE

Roles and Responsibilities
We are looking for a friendly, strong, motivated person to join our team. You’ll do heavy physical work every day so you’ll need to be strong and fit.
You will be expected to lift, carry, and move heavy plants and products on a daily basis, for many hours in a row, outside in cold and heat. You should be physically fit enough to handle the job and self-motivated enough to not need constant supervision and reminders.
You should be comfortable doing one task repeatedly, sometimes for hours or days at a time until the job is done. Planting rows upon rows of plants in nursery pots, adding hundreds of drip lines to pots, watering hundreds of plants every day are all part of job description. You should enjoy working alone and in a group and enjoy working with plants.
